Karen Walton, 73, of Carey, passed away peacefully at her home on October 10, 2024.
Biography
Karen was born on August 9, 1951, in Waterloo, OH, the daughter of the late Joseph F. and Mabel L. (Justice) Yates. She was a 1969 graduate of Carey High School and worked as a dispatcher for the Carey Police Department for 19 years, followed by 19 years in the shipping and receiving department at AO Smith. She was married to Delbert E. Walton, with whom she later divorced. He preceded her in death.
Loved Ones
Karen is survived by her sons Daniel (Carolyn) Walton, David Walton, and Dallas (Jamie) Walton, all of Carey, as well as her beloved grandchildren Lang, Savannah, Christine, and Scarlett Walton. She also leaves behind her brother Joseph (Jennifer) Yates of Findlay and her sisters Kathy Ruhlen, Deborah (Dan) Pergram-Walter, and Penny (Ed) Stephan, all of Carey.
Hobbies
Karen was an avid collector of elephant memorabilia and enjoyed baking, sewing, and diamond painting. Her deep love for animals, particularly cats and dogs, was well-known to those who knew her.
Memorial Services
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, October 14, 2024, at Bringman Clark Funeral Home, with Pastor James Sharrett officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Bloom Cemetery in Vanlue. Friends and family are welcome to pay their respects on Sunday, October 13, 2024, from 1:00–4:00 PM and an hour before the funeral service.
