Obituary for H. Monica Regan (1942–2024)

Announcement of Death

LOWELL – H. Monica Regan of Lowell passed peacefully October 2, 2024, at Emerson Hospital in Concord, surrounded by her family. Born May 10, 1942, she was 82 years old at the time of her passing. Monica has lived in Chelmsford many years and prior to that in Yarmouth Port, MA. She married her husband of 33 years, J. Peter Regan, who passed away in 2006.

Biography

Monica earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Regis College, and finished her Master’s Degree at the Catholic University. She had four children and devoted nearly every waking moment to education, and assisted in the launching of the Barnstable Public Schools English Language Education program.

Loved Ones

Dozens of nieces and nephews will feel Monica’s loss, but in reality, the true legacy remains with her daughter Maryann, son-in-law Robert Young, and her grandchildren that she loved so dearly: Connor, Brendan, and Julia. Throughout her life, she was dedicated and sacrificial in love of family and to education.

Memorial Services

Calling hours for family and friends will be at the FAY McCabe Funeral Home, 105 Moore Street (Federal Hill), Lowell, on Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, October 7th, at Saint Mary Parish in Chelmsford, with time to be announced (ALL MEET AT CHURCH).
