Announcement of Death
Dr. David A. Williams of Savannah, GA, died Friday, October 17th from complications related to his esophageal cancer at St. Joseph’s/Candler Hospital.
Biography
Born July 3, 1954, in McDowell County, North Carolina, to David C. Blanton and Betty Jean Car way, Dr. Williams dedicated his life to education and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland in 1987, and then he was Associate Dean for Students and Curriculum at Georgia Southern University’s Allen E. Paulson College of Engineering & Computing. David was a very respectful person who viewed his peer colleagues as close friends and extended family.
Survived by his wife of 45 years, Vickie; five children; and eight adored grandchildren, he found great joy in his family and old-time cars, but he often seemed to lack passion for most else in life.
Memorial Services
Family and friends will host a time of coming together in love and honor of David during visitation on October 24th at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home. Then, Bulloch Memorial Gardens follows visitation for graveside service.

Hobbies
He was so passionate about his old cars, and that only reflected how much he appreciated craftsmanship and history. His love for family was paramount and he loved to share the tales of their lives to entertain the family members and others, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
