We are deeply saddened to report the passing of Abid Kashmiri, a celebrated veteran of theater, television, and film. Abid Kashmiri, 74, passed away yesterday here from a heart attack.

Biography

Born in 1950 to the lively Misri Shah of Lahore, Abid Kashmiri dedicated his entire life to the creative arts, entertaining audiences since the 1980s. His work can be seen both on television screens and in cinemas, making him a well-known face among viewers of Pakistani shows. For his comedic performance in Bazaar-e-Husn (1988), Kashmiri was awarded the Nigar Award, solidifying his status as a prominent figure in the industry. His outstanding performances in dramas such as Lohari Gate, Suraj Ke Sath Sath, Samundar, Apnay Log, and Teesra Kinara earned him great respect as a talented actor.

Loved Ones

Abid Kashmiri is survived by his widow, two sons, and two daughters. Although they have settled abroad, they remain closely connected to his life and legacy.

Memorial Services

Funeral prayers will be held near Shafique Centre, Amir Road, Shadbagh, on Sunday before noon, pending the arrival of his son from the U.S. A condolence reference organized by the Lahore Arts Council at Alhamra will honor his remarkable contributions to the world of art. Memorial services will also be conducted by Miller Funeral Home, Henryhand Funeral Home, and Beasley Funeral Home.
