Alton Gene Jones, age 61 transitioned from this life on Friday, Sept. 27 in his home of Cullman AL with a heavy heart we announce the passing. On December 26, 1938 a son was born to the late Luther and Jewell Jones named Alton. He fulfilled his purpose on Earth living for an action packed 85 years.
Biography
Alton was called saint by those who knew him from as shown in the obituaries published about Alpharetta similar to lists of Bloomington and Lawrenceville obituary-hearted articles. He was the loving husband to his late wife, Ollie Mae Jones with whom he celebrated 52 years of marriage. He poured his love and devotion into remaining wife, Eleanor Frey, who proved to serve as an equally vital component of what remained—and that was more than likely for the best.

He is survived by his four sons Gene, Jimmy and Marty And Terry Jones, A Loving Father. He paved the way for his 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, who loved nothing more than to make him extremely happy. Alton lived for his relationships with siblings, Rayburn Smith and Franklin (Mary Ann) Smith; Donald Craig Fraser; nieces, nephews & other kin.
Hobbies
Alton was a lover of life that enjoyed the simple things from fishing to his undying support for Alabama football. Memorial Services
Visitation for Alton will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 Shederick Reeves and Revfgets; Delbert Freeman officiating.
Following the funeral service, the visitation will be from 1pm to 2pm, and family and friends are welcome to attend and pay their respect at the funeral home. Afterwards he will be laid to rest at Ebenezer Cemetery, which illustrates the peaceful demeanor Alton embodied.
